This week I have made some connections with other nyckelharpa enthusiasts and am excited to be a new member of the UK Nyckelharpa Society who seem very friendly and have lots of useful information to share as does Vicki Swan who has a wonderfully informative website. I’m planning to go to the Nyckelharpa Festival in September where it will be wonderful to learn and meet other players.

Practice this week has focused on keeping the bow straight and moving my left hand to different positions on the keys. Training my muscle memory is something I’m very in touch with from the cello and the viola da gamba so it’s fun programming some new angles. I’m really enjoying being a beginner again and exploring a new instrument.

This week’s little piece is called After Anders Frisell.
